What do I need to bring on the river?

Secure footwear such as sport sandals, sneakers, or water shoes. No flip flops or slides! If you don’t have appropriate footwear we have water shoes to purchase or rentals on site.  Less is better! Please do not bring any valuables (jewelry, watches, expensive eyewear), any electronics, towels, neck lanyards, bags, wallets, etc. We highly recommend eye retainers if you must have prescription glasses or expensive sunglasses while on the river. We do offer eye leashes for purchase.

Do I need to make reservations?

We do book up so for your convenience reservations are encouraged. Make a Reservation

How long is the trip?

We offer the longest trip possible, launching just below Stewarts Dam and ending at our take out at the confluence of the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers. You need to devote at least 2 hours to our whitewater guided activities. Trip length is 4 miles and takes approximately 1 hour – 1 hour 15 minutes on the water.

Is there a minimum age?

The minimum age for rafting is 5 years old. Whitewater kayaking and tubing is 16 years old

Is there a guide in the raft?

Yes, there is a guide in every raft and there is a guide assisting with whitewater tubing and kayaking

What class rapids are on the river?

The Sacandaga River is Class II and III rapids. The river is damn controlled so the rapids are always the same.

What type of footwear do I need?

You need footwear that cannot fall off. Your shoes should be secure on the foot with a closed back or strap. Water shoes, sport sandals, or sneakers are ideal. Flip flops and Slides are not allowed! We do offer retail water shoes and rentals on site.

What does the price include?

The price includes your PFD, your paddle, transportation to the launch site, and your guide.

How many people fit in a raft?

We have two size rafts. The small rafts accommodate a maximum of 6 adults and 1-2 children ages 5-10. Our large rafts accommodate a maximum of 10 adults or 11 total people if there are children ages 5-10.

Do you take photos of the raft trip?

Yes we do. We have a staff photographer that takes digital photos for your viewing and purchase upon trips end.

When should I arrive for my trip?

We recommend checking in on or before your scheduled trip start time. Late arrivals may be rescheduled to the next available trip that is not fully booked. We try to be as accommodating as possible but same day trips can be fully booked so we may need to reschedule for the following day.

You will not receive a refund or credit if you are unable to make the next available trip.

Do you accept credit cards?

We accept all major credit cards including tap to pay/contactless payment

Are there height and weight restrictions?

Tubing you must be at least 5’4” tall and under 250lbs. Kayaking has a weight restriction of up to 250lbs.

Do the trips run when it is raining?

Yes, all of our trips operate rain or shine. Some of our best trips take place on a rainy day. It is the very best outdoor activity on a rainy day. You get just as wet rain or shine!!
